NEW ULM, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team extended an 84-match winning streak against conference opponents with a sweep of Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) rival Martin Luther College on Saturday afternoon, winning 9-0.
#Callee Conda# and #Danni Sonnfenld# each got two victories on the afternoon, winning as a doubles pairing 8-1. Conda won first singles 6-1, 6-1; while Sonnenfeld won second singles 6-1, 6-0.
#Megan Lawrence# won third singles 6-2, 6-0. #Liz Coyne# earned her second victory of the afternoon in third singles, 6-0, 6-1. She teamed with #Jill Kammerer# for an 8-0 doubles victory as well.
#Alek Ochrymowicz# and #Pamela Hartley# closed out the singles sweep for CSS in fifth and sixth singles. Ochymowicz won 7-5, 6-0. Hartley won the first set 6-2, but her opponent retired in the second set.
In third doubles, #Kelsey Geiger# and #Kelli Johnson# finished off the sweep for St. Scholastica, winning 8-1.
The Saints will return to action a week from today, taking on UMAC rival Northwestern College, beginning at 11 a.m.
