OWATONNA, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team was narrowly defeated by the St. Olaf College on Saturday afternoon by a score of 5-4 in Owatonna.

The Saints (4-2) got off to a good start, winning two of the three doubles matches. The No. 1 team of #Callee Conda# and #Danni Sonnenfeld# won 8-6. The No. 2 duo of #Hillary Bungarden# and #Amanda Hiatt# were victorious 8-2.

In singles action, Callee Conda (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS (UW-Green Bay)) edged out her opponent at the No. 1 spot after dropping first set to win by scores of 2-6, 6-4 (10-7). The Oles (3-1) took the next three singles flights, hanging on to win two by a second-set tiebreaker.

Hillary Bungarden (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) then won at the No. 5 position 6-1, 7-6 (8-6). The result of the dual match came down to No.6 singles. CSS's #Megan Lawrence# and St. Olaf's Anna Klenke battled to a super-breaker with Klenke eventually prevailing in a marathon on a match 2-6, 6-4, (18-16). The win gave the Oles the 5-4 dual victory.

The Saints will be at the University of St. Thomas tomorrow morning. The match is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
