Women’s Tennis Blanks Hamline

DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team improved to 4-0 on the year with a 9-0 victory on Saturday night over Hamline University at the Arrowhead Tennis Center.

In doubles play, the No. 1 team of #Callee Conda# and #Milly Che Leon# won 8-5. At No. 2, #Danni Sonnenfeld# and #Kelli Johnson# won 8-3. Finally, the No. 3 team of #Hillary Bungarden# and #Ali Bernst# won 8-6.

In singles, Callee Conda (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS (UW-Green Bay)) won at the No. 1 spot 6-3, 6-0. Milly Che Leon (Lima, Peru/Enrique Meiggs ) won at the No. 2 position 6-0, 6-1. At No. 3, Danni Sonnenfeld (Harris, Minn./North Branch HS) improved to 4-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph.

Kelli Johnson (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West HS) was pushed to a super-breaker at No. 4, but pulled it out 6-4, 4-6, (10-5) to earn her first collegiate victory. Hillary Bungarden (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) dropped just one game at the No. 5 spot 6-0, 6-1. Lastly at No.6, #Amanda Hiatt# improved to 3-0 with a 6-3, 6-2 victory.

The Saints will play in Duluth for the final until mid-April tomorrow when they host the College of Saint Benedict at the Arrowhead Tennis Center. The action begins at noon.
