ISHPEMING, Mich. – Senior #Waylon Manske# led the St. Scholastica men skiers in the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Championship 20km men's classic mass start on Sunday, finishing 15th in a time of 1:01:07.6.
Andy Liebner doubled up as the winner of both championship races on day two, out-distancing himself from teammate Martin Banerud by 1.5 seconds, in a winning time of 57:53.6. Alaska Fairbanks' John Parry finished third in a time of 58:20.2.Manske was backed up on the Saints team score by #Jeremy Hecker# in 18th spot, with #Kasey Bacso# as the Saints final scorer in 23rd.
The Saints men finished fifth as a team on the day. Northern Michigan won for the second straight day to claim the first annual Butch Reimer cup as the CCSA Men's Conference Champions. The Saints men finished fourth on the weekend, with Alaska-Fairbanks and Michigan Tech in second and third, respectively.
The Saints head into the final week of competition at the NCAA Central Regionals in Houghton, Mich. Friday and Saturday.
