Paul Schommer (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly HS) paced the St. Scholastica men skiers on the second day of competition at the Grandview XC Challenge on Sunday.
Schommer posted a time of 27:45.5 for the 10km classic course to finish 18th overall, 13th among college skiers. For the second day in a row, Long Lake, Minnesota's, Matt Liebsch bested the overall field in a time of 24:29.2. Team CXC's Santiago Ocariz second and Northern Michigan University's Kjell-Christian Markset, also nailed down second and third respectively, for the second day in a row. Markset led the collegiate contingent with teammates Erik Soderman and Kyle Bratrud finishing 4th and 5th overall, sweeping the top 3 collegiate spots.

Kasey Bacso (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) finished 23rd overall in a time of 28:02.3, good enough for 17th among college skiers. Junior
Jeremy Hecker (Andover, Minn./Andover HS (Minnesota-Twin Cities)) finished another 4.7 seconds back of Bacso in 28:08.9 to finish 26th overall and 20th in among collegiate skiers, to round out the Saints' top three.
The Saints will see action again next weekend in a single make-up race, a 10km classic, at Michigan Tech University, December 17th, before pausing the official racing calendar until the New Year.
