ST.BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team earned its second conference win tonight against Crown College, with a final score of 75-39 at the Wilde Athletic Center.
The Saints held the lead consistently through out the entire game, allowing Crown to tie up the score only twice in the first half. The Storms lead once throughout the game by one point in the first half and would not lead again for the remainder of the game.
With Crown up 8-7, the Saints went on an 11-0 run to go up 10. In the final 7 minutes of the half the Saints outscored the Storm 18-5 and led 42-21 at the half.
St.Scholastica shot 43-percent in the first half, holding the Storm to 26-percent. CSS out-rebounded the Storm 32-12.
Saints remained control in the second half, with its largest margin of the game being the final score of 75-39.
CSS finished at 43-percent for the game, and Crown 28-percent. However, the Saints went to the free throw line 23 more times than the Strom making 21 free throws.
Sophomore #Bri Allen# led all scorers for the Saints with 18 points and also had a double-double with 12 rebounds. Saints had 14 girls reach the scoring column. Morgan-Lee Fleischer led the Storms with five points.
The Saints will take to the court again tomorrow afternoon to face-off against Northwestern College. The game is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
