PREVIEW: Men’s Hockey Heads to River Falls this Weekend

DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's hockey team starts up Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) play in the second half with a pair of games at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Friday and Saturday.

The Saints tied No. 10 Hamline University this past weekend in Duluth. #Chad Golanowski#, #Jeremy Dawes# and #Alex Valenti# all scored for the Saints in the 3-3 tie. The Saints had eight penalties for 19 minutes, including four penalties for 16 minutes in the second period. #Patrick Sullivan# had 26 saves for the Saints.

St. Scholastica Saints (7-7-1, 2-6-0 NCHA)

UW-River Falls Falcons (6-8-1, 2-5-0 NCHA)

The Falcons are 1-3 in their last four games, including three losses to teams that are receiving votes in the USCHO.com poll in St. Thomas and UW-Stout … Alec Hagman is leading the team in goals with nine on the year … Justin Brossman and Josh Calleja are leading the team in assists with eight apiece … Brossman and Calleja also have six goals to give them both fourteen points and the team lead in that category as well … Scott Lewan has seen the majority of time in the net this year with a goals against average of 2.27 on the year ... As a team the Falcons are averaging 2.78 goals per game.

Last Meeting: (All-Time vs. UW-River Falls: 32-54-5)
The two teams played in four games last year. CSS was 1-2-1 in the four games and was outscored 14-16. River Falls won the most important of the four games as they defeated CSS 6-3 in the NCHA Peters Cup Semifinals.
