WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD COMPETES AT HAMLINE TWILIGHT

ST. PAUL – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team sent some of its members to the Hamline Twilight on Wednesday evening.

#Alec Seeley# (So.-Cadott, Wis.) broke her own school record in the shot put with a toss of 38'-9.75” (11.83m). #Rachel Miller# (Fr.-Hinckley, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson) also broke her own school record in the triple jump with a leap of 35'-1.25” (10.70m).

#Shelbie Johnson# (So.-Elko, Minn./New Prague) was the lone winner on the night as she won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:11.79 seconds. The Saints had three of the top six finishers in that event with #Erin Eckman# (Fr.-St. Anthony, Minn./St. Anthony Village) and #Theresa Magliano# (Fr.-Duluth, Minn./Denfeld) placing fifth and sixth, respectively.

#Alex Aarestad# (Sr.-Halstad, Minn./Oak Grove) finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.61 seconds. #Kristen Gronbeck# (Fr.-Battle Lake, Minn.) was sixth in the steeplechase with a personal-best time of 12:25.80 seconds. #Stacey Gustafson# (Fr.-Merrifield, Minn./Crosby-Ironton) also had a personal-best time in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:23.86 seconds, which was ninth best.

The Saints will have their 4x100-, 4x200-, 4x400-, and spring medley relay teams competing at the prestigious Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday and Saturday. Others will be competing at the Drake Alternatives on Saturday at Gustavus Adolphus.
