DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team placed fourth out of eight teams today in a meet that consisted of mostly Division II schools at the North Country Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
The Saints just missed third by one point. There was one school record broken on the day and that belonged to #Tom Lyscio# (
So.-Baxter, Minn./Brainerd) in the hammer throw as he won the event with a toss of 167'-11” (51.19m). Lyscio was also third in the shot put with a throw of 45'-0.25” (13.72m).
#Phillip Rien# (
Fr.-St. Cloud, Minn./Cathedral) won the long jump with a distance of 21'-5.5” (6.54m). He also took third in the high jump clearing a height of 5'-10.75” (1.80m). #Tyler Rien# (
Fr.-St. Cloud, Minn./Cathedral) was fourth in that event, clearing that same height.

So.-Baxter, Minn.) was fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.43 seconds. #John Howard# (
Jr.-Elk River, Minn.) threw a career-best in the discus throw with a toss of 135'-6” (41.31m) to place fourth. #Josh Ditsworth# (
Jr.-North Branch, Minn.) also threw a personal best in the hammer throw with a distance of 149'-6” (45.57m) to finish fourth. #Peter Drinkwine# (
Fr.-Superior, Wis.) was fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 42'-4” (12.90m).
The Saints men will send some members to the Bolstorff Twilight, hosted by Macalester College, on Wednesday night. Action begins at 5 p.m.
