MOTLEY BECOMES PROGRAM'S ALL-TIME WINS LEADER

Saints women cruise, 9-0, over Northwestern in conference opener

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Senior #Katie Motley# (Sr.-Eveleth, Minn.) became the Saints' all-time career wins leader in women's tennis this weekend as the Saints cruised to a 9-0 victory Friday night against Northwestern College. 

With victories in singles and doubles on Friday evening, Motley moves to 48-31 in solo matches and 59-26 in doubles, for a career record of 107-57. Motley won 6-2, 6-2 in first-flight singles against the Eagles' Rebecca Leland and then teamed with fellow senior #Kelly Ross# (Buffalo, Minn.) for an 8-1 victory in doubles action. 

#Callee Conda# (Jr.-Hibbing, Minn.) moved to 9-5 in singles competition on the season with her victory, while Ross improved her record to 8-5 in singles. Conda also teamed with #Danni Sonnenfeld# (Jr.-Harris, Minn.) for the duo's third team victory of the season. 

The final doubles team, #Megan Carlson# (Sr.-Pine City, Minn.) and #Angela Shields# (Sr.-Pengilly, Minn.) also continued their winning ways, picking up their third team win of the season. 

The Saints returned to UMAC action today with a doubleheader against Bethany Lutheran College and North Central (Minn.) University. Stay tuned to csssaints.com for an update on those matches when it becomes available. 

The women return to the courts next Friday and Saturday as they take to the Midwest Invitational in Madison, Wis.
