DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team set a program record by allowing just 23 points tonight in a 61-23 victory over Crown College at Reif Gym.
The Saints improve to 10-12 overall and to 5-6 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). The Storm drop to 1-16 overall and to 0-11 in the league. The Saints are undefeated against the Storm in 22 meetings.
The Saints put the game away early, starting the game on a 19-2 run. Crown made just four field goals in the half as the score was 30-8 at halftime. The eight points is not a CSS record for fewest points allowed in a half. The record is seven by North Central during the 2004 season.
The Saints put up 45 shots in the half, but only made 24-percent. CSS had 22 offensive rebounds in the half.
The Storm got the lead down to 18, but CSS responded with a 15-0 run and cruised to a 61-23 victory.
The Saints broke a program-record with 74 rebounds. The previous record had been 61. The Saints tied a program record by holding Crown to just nine field goals. CSS held North Central to nine field goals in the season opener.

Sr.-Marshall, Minn.) pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds. Haukom needs just six rebounds to become the first Saints player to score 1,000 points, grab 500 rebounds, and have 200 assists. Stephanie Zroka led Crown with 10 points.
