For the first time in the series history, the Saints fell to North Central University 52-49 in Minneapolis on December 16th. #Laura Amys# had career-high in points (17) and rebounds (16) in the loss.

St. Scholastica Saints (2-6)
The two-week break may have been just what the Saints needed … CSS has dealt with a plethora of injuries this season, including not having three of its top four scorers in the loss to North Central in its last game … However, leading scorer #Bri Allen# should be back on Thursday as well as freshman guard #Kayla Heisler#, both of whom missed the North Central game … We may also see the first appearance of junior guard #Erin Morstad# this season as she has been rehabbing from off-season surgery … Laura Amys (South Range, Wis./Superior HS), who has also battled injuries this season, has come on the last two games with a total of 21 points and 27 rebounds … CSS has struggled from the free throw line this season, shooting just 66-percent … Opponents have had a better percentage from the charity stripe in six of the eight games thus far.

UW-River Falls Falcons (8-3)
The Falcons went into Christmas with having won their last two games and will travel to play Concordia-Moorhead on Wednesday night, before playing the Saints in Thursday … Two of the three losses this season have come in conference … The three losses this season have been by nine points or more and just two games overall have been decided by less than eight points … The Falcons are 6-1 in non-conference games, including 2-0 against the UMAC this season … UWRF has won the two UMAC contests by an average of 26 points … The Falcons have won 20 of their last 23 non-conference games … Junior guard Tiffany Gregorich leads the team at 13 points per game … Junior forwards Alise Holst is averaging 11.2 points and Maranda Dohrn is at 10.2 … Dohrn also averages a team-high 7.8 rebounds … River Falls has not been out-rebounded in a game yet this season … The Falcons lead the WIAC rebounding margin at a staggering plus-14.4.

Last Meeting: (CSS All-Time Record vs. UW-River Falls: 8-15)
The Saints and Falcons have played every year since the 2001-02 season with the Falcons winning the last three, including last year's 70-31 victory in River Falls.
