NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team was outscored 38-22 in the second half on its way to falling to St. Olaf College on Saturday afternoon 57-42.
The Saints (0-2) trailed 11-1 early before hitting their first field goal eight minutes in. CSS kept on cutting into the lead and took its one-and-only lead into halftime following a #Kayla Heisler# 3-pointer at the end of the half to make it 20-19.
The Saints hung with the Oles (2-0) for the first four minutes of the second half, until St. Olaf went on a 10-0 run to make it 35-25 with 12:27 to play. The Ole lead got as high as 19 points before eventually winning 57-42.
The Saints shot just 24-percent for the game, while the Oles were at 33-percent. Both teams went a combined 4-for-37 on 3-point attempts and also committed a total of 59 turnovers. CSS was 17-for-22 from the free throw line. St. Olaf had a 51-33 advantage on the glass.
#Bri Allen# had a game-high 14 points for the Saints. #Lindsey Kingsbury# added seven points. #Laura Amys# had a team-high nine rebounds off the bench. Elise Raney had 12 points off the bench to lead St. Olaf.
