DULUTH, Minn. – A goal in the 93rd minute by #Jermaine Dacres# led the Saints to an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) win over Northwestern College on Friday afternoon, as they started Homecoming Weekend with a 1-0 victory.
CSS improves to 8-2-1 on the season (5-0-1 UMAC), while dropping their nearest conference rival to 3-4-1 on the season (2-1-0 UMAC).
CSS out-shot the Eagles 7-to-3 in regulation, including 3-to-1 on net, but the Saints had the two most important shots in overtime.
As the rain came down on Saints Field, #Cody Sveiven# played the ball into Northwestern territory, taking a shot which tipped off the fingers of the Eagles' keeper, leaving a wide-open net for Dacres, as he scored his seventh goal of the season. It was his second overtime winner for the Saints this season.
Goalkeeper #Sam Reed# earned a shutout, improving his season total to six and bringing his record to 7-2-1 on the season.
