NEW ULM, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team swept two matches at Martin Luther College today.

The Saints have won five matches in a row, going 45-0 in individual matches during that span. CSS improves to 14-7 overall and 7-0 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). The Knights fall to 2-4 overall and in the conference.

#Ploy Suthijindawong# (Fr.-Bangkok, Thailand/Duluth Central) won both of her matches at No. 1 singles to win her 14th straight match and give her a record of 14-1 this season. #Katie Motley# (Jr.-Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert) did not lose a game in each of her matches at No. 2 singles. #Danni Sonnenfeld# (So.-Harris, Minn./North Branch) took care of business at the No. 3 spot and #Lynnae Wilke# (Sr.-Parkers Prairie, Minn.) went 2-0 at the No. 4 flight. #Brooke Aho# (Jr.-Long Prairie, Minn.) at No. 5 singles and #Katie Marcella# (So.-Virginia, Minn.) at No. 6 singles also had no trouble.

Katie Motley (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) and Ploy Suthijindawong (Bangkok, Thailand/Duluth Central HS) won both of their doubles matches at the No. 1 flight by an 8-0 score. Lynnae Wilke (Parkers Prairie, Minn./Parkers Prairie HS) and Danni Sonnenfeld (Harris, Minn./North Branch HS) went 2-0 at No. 2 doubles, while the No. 3 team of Katie Marcella (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) and Brooke Aho (Long Prairie, Minn./Long Prairie) were 2-0 at No. 3 doubles.

The Saints will have off until Wednesday when they host Northwestern College at the Burns Wellness Commons. That match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
