DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team broke three records today at the North Country Invitational at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

(Fr.-Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert) broke the school record in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.02 seconds. The other record was broken by the 4x100-meter relay team of #Todd Belger# (
Fr.-Bloomer, Wis.), #Wendell Booth# (
Fr.-Deer River, Minn./Grand Rapids), #Samora Johnson# (
Fr.-Milwaukee, Wis./Pius XI), and #Garrett Cora# (
Fr.-Duluth, Minn./East) with a time of 43.74 seconds. The third record was broken by #Cyrus Beckwith# (
So.-Saginaw, Minn./Proctor), clearing a height of 13'-.75" (3.98m).
Cora finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.09 seconds. #Jake Turman# (
Sr.-Duluth, Minn./Central) finished third in the 800-meter dash with a time of 1:56.67 seconds.
In field events,
Wendell Booth (Deer River, Minn./Grand Rapids HS) won the long jump, leaping a distance of 21'-2.7” (6.47m). #Tom Lyscio# (
Fr.-Baxter, Minn.) finished second in the shot put with a distance of 46'-11” (14.30m). Lyscio also finished third in the hammer throw with a distance of 144'-7.8” (44.09m). #Tony Evans# (
So.-New Richmond, Wis.) also finished second in the javelin, throwing a distance of 160'-6.4” (48.93m).
The Saints will be at the Macalester Twilight on Wednesday night before some of the team heads down to the prestigious Drake Relays on Thursday.
