ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team snapped a four-game losing skid with an 87-41 victory today over Crown College.

The Saints improve to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). The Storm fall to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the league. CSS is 21-0 all-time against Crown.

The Storm led for the first eight minutes of the contest, but then the Saints used an 11-0 run to take the lead for good. Later in the first half, CSS went on an 8-0 run to extend its lead to 41-24. The Saints went into the locker room with a 45-27 advantage.

The Saints shot 41-percent in the first half and had a 26-14 rebounding edge. Crown shot 48-percent for the half, but committed 16 turnovers, which led to 14 CSS points.

St. Scholastica used an 18-0 run at the start of the second to lengthen its lead to 69-29. The margin got as high as 48 before the Saints settled for an 87-41 victory.

The Saints shot 43-percent for the game and had 27 offensive rebounds that led to 18 second-chance points. The Storm shot 48-percent for the game, but finished with 36 turnovers. The Saints out-scored the Storm 36-14 in the paint.

CSS had 15 of its 16 players get in the scoring column in today's game. The Saints bench had a 42-3 scoring advantage. #Kirsten Haukom# (Sr.-Marshall, Minn.) led the way with 21 points. #Laura Amys# (So.-South Range, Wis./Superior) and #Taylor Fellbaum# (So.-Minong, Wis./Northwood) both added 10 points. #Taylor Tyllia# (Fr.-Duluth, Minn./East) and #Kelly Cinquegrani# (Jr.-Buffalo, Minn.) each had a team-high six rebounds.
