ST. SCHOLASTICA TO INTRODUCE ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME

DULUTH, Minn. – College of St. Scholastica Athletics Director Don Olson announced today that the school will be starting an Athletics Hall of Fame with the first class being inducted in the Fall of 2011.

The inaugural event will coincide with the school's centennial celebration. The first hall of fame class will be announced in the fall of 2010. The exact date and location of the event is to be determined.

In addition to former great St. Scholastica athletes; coaches and teams can also be nominated. There will also be a distinguished service category for someone who has been very influential to the CSS athletics program.

Nomination forms are available online at csssaints.com. Anyone is free to nominate as long as it meets the guidelines below.

Nominees must meet the following criteria:

• An athlete nominee must be a graduate of The College of St. Scholastica. Ten (10) years must have elapsed since a nominee last participated as an athlete at The College of St. Scholastica
• A coach nominee must have served at The College of St. Scholastica a minimum of five (5) years. Five (5) years must have elapsed since a nominee last served The College of St. Scholastica in that capacity.
• A team nominee must have achieved high acclaim and ten (10) years must have elapsed since the team competed at The College of St. Scholastica.
• A distinguished service nominee must have impacted greatly Saints Athletics and The College of St. Scholastica community.
