IRONWOOD, Mich. – St. Scholastica junior #Waylon Manske# (Jr.-Bemidji, Minn.) once again led the Saints men skiers in the Grandview XC Challenge men's 10km classic, finishing 11th overall in a time of 28:51.3 seconds.

Duluth's Adam Swank won for the second day in a row over Joe Dubay of Coon Rapids, 27:32.7 to 27:32.7. Middlebury College's Doug Debold of Hopkins, Minn., finished third in 27:39.0.

CSS junior #Matt Nistler# (Jr.-Bemidji, Minn.) finished just 1.5 seconds behind Manske in 12th, with the Saints duo finishing third and fourth among college skiers in the field. Freshman #Ryan Wright# (Fr.-Wyoming, Minn./Forest Lake) rounded out the Saints scorers finishing 19th. Nistler and Wright also met the Saints standard for the U.S. National Championship trip to Anchorage in early January, the next official competition weekend for the team.

"It was another solid start," said head coach Chad Salmela. "We saw some guys come around from yesterday, some not as sharp, but we're getting everyone more dialed in with each race."
