MORRIS, Minn. – After 10 matches, the St. Scholastica men's soccer team has finally been defeated this season, falling 1-0 this afternoon to the University of Minnesota-Morris at Big Cat Stadium.

The loss drops the Saints to 8-1-1 overall and 5-1-0 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). The Cougars improve to 7-3 overall and 6-0 in the conference. Morris was also the last team to defeat the Saints; in last year's UMAC Tournament Championship match.

CSS had the upper hand in the first half, out-shooting the Cougars 8-5, including getting three shots on goal. However, it would be scoreless at the half.

In the second half, Morris came out on the attack getting four shots on Saints' goalkeeper #Sam Reed# (So.-Eastbourne, England/Causeway) in the first 13 minutes. Reed stopped them all, but could not stop the Mattson Tawley shot in the 65th minute, giving the Cougars a 1-0 lead. The Saints did not get another on net the rest of the way as the Cougars won 1-0.

Morris ended up out-shooting the Saints 14-11 in the match. Sam Reed (Eastbourne, England/Causeway School) made six saves in the loss for the Saints. Tyler Webber had four saves to earn the win for Morris. #Jermaine Dacres# (Jr.-Nottingham, England/Haywood Comprehensive) got off three shots for the Saints.

The Saints will head over to South Dakota to take on Presentation College. Presentation defeated CSS last year in Aberdeen. The match is slated to begin at noon.
