Jesse Plote joins the St. Scholastica men’s and women’s tennis coaching staff in 2021-22.
Plote comes to CSS after being the Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach at Division II Daemen College (N.Y.) since 2020. Plote has been coaching collegiate tennis for nearly 20 years. From 2004-07, he led the men's and women's teams at Division II University of Nebraska-Kearney. During his time with the Lopers, Plote led the men to three consecutive NCAA Division II Tournament appearances and was a two-time conference coach of the year. He was also named the North Central Region Coach of the Year during the 2005-06 season.
He then went on to be the Head Men’s Tennis Coach at NCAA Division I at Bradley University from 2008-13. He led the Braves to three consecutive winning seasons from 2010-11 through 2012-13, the program's first such stretch since the 1980's. In 2011-12, Plote led Bradley to 15 wins, the program's highest total since winning 16 matches in 1988-89. Plote also served as interim head coach of the Bradley's women's team in 2012.
Plote has also served as an assistant coach at his alma mater Division I Creighton University, as well as, Division III University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
The Red Wing, Minnesota native was part of the State runner-up squad in 1998 and was individually ranked in the top 10 in the State of Minnesota. He would go on to play in the top three singles and two doubles spots at Creighton. He received his Business Marketing Degree from Creighton in 2002. Plote recently earned his Master’s in Education Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2019.
Plote is married to his wife Kelly and they have three children.
