Williams enters his fifth year as the head coach of the CSS men's hockey program in 2025-26, his sixth year overall as a member of the Saints coaching staff. The former Saints captain was hired to be the program’s assistant coach in December of 2020 before becoming the programs 12th head coach in 2021. Williams had the interim tag removed in March of 2022 following the season.
During the 2024-25 season, the Saints reached as high as No. 17 in the National Polls, and finished with four All-MIAC players, with Wyatt Wurst winning MIAC Rookie of the Year and also being named a AHCAÂ Second-Team All-American.
During the 2022-23 season, Williams was recognized as the MIAC Men’s Hockey Coach of the Year and was a finalist for the CCM/AHCA National Coach of the Year after guiding the Saints to a 17-7-3 (.685) overall record while going 13-1-2 (.875) in conference play. The saints reached the 17-win mark for the first time since the 2009-10 season on route to capturing the school’s first MIAC regular season championship in any sport. This was also St. Scholastica’s first men’s hockey conference championship since 1975.
Williams’ squad led the MIAC in goals scored (109), goals scored per game (4.04), scoring margin (1.3), shot percentage (.15), save percentage (.917), and blocked shots (315) while averaging nearly five goals scored per conference contest with an average margin of victory of 2.1 on the year. Williams is the first St. Scholastica head coach in any sport to receive MIAC Coach of the Year honors.Â
In his two seasons at the helm, Williams has led the saints to an impressive 28-17-5 record (.612) and a MIAC conference record of 20-7-3 (.724). During that span, Williams has guided 9 MIAC All-Conference selections, 1 MIAC Offensive Player of the Year, 1 MIAC Defensive Player of the Year and 3 CCM/AHCA All-American’s.
Williams played for the Saints from 2011-15 where he was named to the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) All-Rookie Team in 2012. He was named the team’s Best Defensive Player in 2012-13 and was named assistant captain in 2013-14. He was elevated to captain for the 2014-15 season.

The Calgary, Alberta native finished third on the team with 23 points his junior season and tied for the team lead with 18 assists his senior season. For his CSS career, Williams finished with 29 goals and 38 assists and 101 career games.

After graduating with a Finance degree from St. Scholastica in 2015, Williams played professionally for three years in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) amassing a total of 50 goals and 61 assists for 111 points with the Huntsville Havoc and Evansville Thunderbolts.
Williams was named the Thunderbolts’ Most Valuable Player and Top Forward finishing his playing career in 2018 as Evansville’s all-time leader in goals (42) and points (91).
