Colin Bailey was hired as the men's hockey Assistant Coach in September of 2022. Bailey will be entering into his fourth season with CSS men’s hockey during the 2025-26 campaign.
During the 2024-25 season, the Saints reached as high as No. 17 in the National Polls, and finished with four All-MIAC players, with Wyatt Wurst winning MIAC Rookie of the Year and also being named a AHCA Second-Team All-American.
In his first season behind the Saints bench, Bailey served as the primary recruiting coordinator, defense coach, and ran the Saints penalty kill which finished with an impressive .904% success rate, good for 6th in the NCAA.
Bailey assisted the Saints to an overall record of 17-7-3 (.685), a MIAC conference record of 13-1-2 (.875) and St. Scholastica’s first MIAC Regular Season Championship in any sport. Bailey's efforts during the 2022-23 season helped earn Head Coach Dave Williams his first ever MIAC Coach of the Year award. Bailey also helped coach 3 CCM/AHCA All-American’s while guiding senior defensemen, Alec Severson to his first MIAC All-Conference selection.
A native of Wausau, Wisconsin, Bailey moved to Duluth from his hometown where he was most recently the Head Coach for the Wausau Cyclones of the North American 3 Hockey League. Bailey began his career in Wausau as an Assistant Coach before being elevated to the Head Coach position in 2018.
During his time in Wausau, Bailey elevated the Cyclones program from a record of 6-33-1 to a program best 21-24-1-1, which included the first playoff appearance in franchise history. During that time, he also served as a regional scout for the Minot Minotauros of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).
Bailey began his career working with both the bantam and high school programs of the Northern Lakes Youth Hockey program located in Breezy Point, MN, before moving on to the junior ranks.
Bailey currently resides in Superior, Wisconsin where you can find him and his wife, Lexie, enjoying the area with their two dogs, Huey and Lula.
