Butler becomes the first full-time Men's Basketball Assistant Coach in program history in 2023.
He joins the Saints after spending the past four seasons at Aurora University as an Assistant Coach and Junior Varsity Head Coach for the Spartans. Butler also spent the past 3 years as an AAU Coach for Mercury Elite, based out of Chicagoland.Â
Before Aurora, he was a Graduate Assistant Coach at Montana State University Billings for three years and worked under longtime Division I and II coach Mick Durham. From 2015 to 2018, he attended Hope College in Holland, Mich. and was on the basketball staff as a Student Assistant Coach after playing his freshman year.
Butler, a Texas native, graduated from Hope College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Leadership & Psychological Principles of Sports at Hope College and then earned his Master's in Interdisciplinary Studies from Montana State University Billings.
