Ben Davis was named head coach of the St. Scholastica men’s basketball program in 2026.
Davis brings extensive experience across NCAA Division III and the junior college ranks, with a proven track record of program building and player development. He most recently served as an assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater during the 2024-25 season.
Prior to UW-Whitewater, Davis was the head coach at Knox College from 2019-24, where he led a turnaround of the Prairie Fire program. In his final season, Knox posted its first winning record in 19 years and recorded its highest win total in 24 years.
Davis also spent one season as head coach at Green Mountain College (Vt.), leading the Eagles to an 18-10 record and a Northeastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship in 2018-19. His team ranked first in the nation in scoring defense (62.0) and defensive field goal percentage (37.8%), while also producing the Association of Independent Institutions Defensive Player of the Year.
His first head coaching opportunity came at Dakota County Technical College (Minn.), where he quickly elevated the program. After inheriting a 7-21 team, Davis led DCTC to a 23-8 record in his second season. In his final season, the team went 20-12 and qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament for the first time in program history. He earned regional Coach of the Year honors and coached multiple All-Region, Academic All-American, and All-American selections.
Davis has also held assistant coaching roles at Clarke University (Iowa), Carleton College, and Macalester College. During his time at Carleton, the Knights posted a 39-16 record, won a MIAC championship, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
In addition to his collegiate experience, Davis spent a decade coaching with the Minnesota Fury AAU program, where his teams compiled more than 400 wins and helped over 60 players advance to the collegiate level, including 27 on athletic scholarships.
A native of Minnesota, Davis earned his bachelor’s degree in developmental psychology with a minor in coaching education from the University of Minnesota in 2007. He completed his master’s degree in coaching education from Ohio University in 2010.
