BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- St. Scholastica sophomore guard Ava Haus has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Haus earned the honor after a standout week that featured two strong scoring performances against conference opponents and included a milestone achievement in the Saints record book.
In St. Scholastica's Feb. 4 road victory at Macalester, Haus scored 20 points while going a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. She added six rebounds and logged 34 minutes as the Saints secured the win. Three days later at Bethel, Haus followed with a season-high 25 points, shooting an efficient 72 percent from the field while playing 37 minutes.
Over the weekend, Haus also etched her name into the St. Scholastica record book, setting a new program record for three-point field goals made in a single season with 57 — and counting.
On the season, Haus has emerged as one of the MIAC's most productive scorers. She is averaging 17.2 points per game, ranking second among all MIAC players. From beyond the arc, she leads the conference with 2.7 three-point field goals made per game and ranks third in the MIAC in free throw percentage at 87.1 percent.
