Lind Leads the Way as Saints Down Carleton 65-52

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Saints opened strong and finished stronger to earn a 65-52 MIAC victory over Carleton at West Gym.

St. Scholastica set the tone immediately, holding Carleton to just six points in the first quarter while building a 21-6 lead. The Saints' defensive pressure and work on the glass fueled early momentum, with Kloey Lind (Pine City, MN/Pine City HS) controlling the paint on both ends. Lind finished with a game-high 20 points and 13 rebounds, anchoring a Saints frontcourt that consistently won second-chance opportunities.

Carleton responded in the second quarter, trimming the deficit behind improved shooting and transition offense, but the Saints stayed composed. Despite a tighter margin at halftime, St. Scholastica maintained control by continuing to attack inside, scoring 42 points in the paint for the game.

The Saints steadied themselves coming out of the break. Evie Schmitz (Burnsville, MN/St. Louis Park) knocked down a three in the corner and added 10 points, while Ava Haus (St. Michael, MN/St. Michael-Albertville High School) chipped in 12 points and six rebounds. Gabby Voigt (St. Michael. MN/St. Michael- Albertville HS) made her presence felt across the stat sheet with nine points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals, providing key contributions during stretches when Carleton threatened to close the gap.

In the fourth quarter, the Saints delivered their best response. Timely baskets from Voigt and Haus, combined with strong defensive stops, allowed St. Scholastica to push the lead back to double digits. The Saints shot over 53 percent in the final period, sealing the win with efficient offense and disciplined defense down the stretch.

St. Scholastica finished the game shooting 45 percent from the field and out rebounded Carleton 43-28, underscoring their physicality and consistency. With the win, the Saints improved to 12-5 overall and 7-3 in MIAC play, continuing to build momentum as conference action rolls on.

The Saints return to action on Wednesday, January 28th, traveling to Augsburg University to take on the Auggies. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
