Women's Basketball Surges Past St. Olaf, 64-50

NORTHFIELD, MInn. -- The College of St. Scholastica women's basketball team delivered a strong all-around performance on the road Saturday afternoon, earning a 64–50 win over St. Olaf College at Skoglund Athletic Center in Northfield. With the victory, the Saints improved to 9-4 overall and 4-2 in MIAC play, while St. Olaf fell to 5-8 and 0-6 in conference action.

After a closely contested first half that saw the teams tied at 27 following two quarters, the Saints seized control in the third period behind a balanced offensive effort and tenacious defense. St. Scholastica outscored the hosts 20–11 in the third quarter and never looked back, extending the lead in the fourth to secure the double-digit victory.

Standout Performances:

  • Kloey Lind (Pine City, MN/Pine City HS) led the Saints with a team-high 18 points, shooting efficiently from the field (8-of-13) and contributing on both ends of the floor with 3 steals and a strong defensive presence.

  • Evie Schmitz (Burnsville, MN/St. Louis Park) continued her strong play with 16 points, knocking down timely buckets and providing energy throughout all 35 minutes.

  • Ava Haus (St. Michael, MN/St. Michael-Albertville High School) added 11 points and 8 rebounds, showcasing her versatility and helping St. Scholastica control the glass.

  • Gabby Voigt (St. Michael. MN/St. Michael- Albertville HS) chipped in 6 points and 10 rebounds, anchoring the frontcourt and sparking several key possessions.

The Saints shot 40.3% from the floor and hit 35.3% of their threes (6-of-17), while holding St. Olaf to 33.3% shooting and forcing turnovers at critical moments. St. Scholastica also excelled in second-chance points (9) and points off turnovers (20), two areas that helped tilt momentum throughout the game.

Up next, the Saints will host Macalester on Wednesday, January 14. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00p.m.
