ST. PAUL, Minn. - Senior kicker
Jacob Andrews (Owatonna, MN/Medford HS) has been named the MIAC Special Teams Player of the Week following his clutch performance in the Saints' 37-34 double-overtime win at Macalester on September 27.
Andrews connected on field goals from 39 and 42 yards before sealing the victory with a 35-yard game winner in the second overtime. He also went a perfect 4-for-4 on extra point attempts and averaged 55.0 yards per kickoff, giving the Saints a consistent edge in special teams throughout the contest.
His performance proved to be the difference in a hard-fought conference battle, showcasing the impact of special teams in deciding close games.
