Orlando, Fl. – The Saint Scholastica women's tennis team took part in their fourth match of their spring break trip in Florida. Taking on the Bears of Ursinus College, they achieved their third win of the trip with a final score of 6-1.

Doubles
The Saints started strong, earning the doubles point after Mishell Benitez (Ambato, Ecuador/Colegio Tecnico Particular a Distancia José Martí) and Maria Sosa (Mazatenango, Guatemala/) won their match with a score of 6-1, only allowing the Bears one point. Julia Maier (Hamburg, Germany/Heidberg Gymnasium) and Paula Sendele (Icking, ,DE) were able to clinch their match victory after prevailing in a tie-breaker, winning 7-5.
Katia Bartel and Sophia Cosgrove (Bli Bli, , AU) gave the Saints their third win to achieve the sweep in doubles. With the point already secured, they took the No. 3 doubles match with a score of 6-3.
Singles
Maier prevailed at No. 1 singles, collecting scores of 6-3, 4-6, and 1-0. At the No. 4 singles spot, Cosgrove was also successful after three sets, prevailing over the Bears with scores of 4-6, 6-1, and 1-0.
Bartel competed in the No. 2 singles, earning the Saints third victory in singles with scores of 6-4 and 6-2. Benitez, right behind Bartels at the No. 3 singles match also came out victorious over the Bears, scoring 6-4 and winning the second set 7-5.
Sosa achieved the highest margin of victory for the Saints in singles. At No. 5 singles, she only conceded two total points over both sets, earning the win with set scores of 6-1 and 6-1.
At No. 6 singles, was Claire Rewertz (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS), who after putting up fierce competition against the Bears, was unable to achieve the match win, finishing with scores of 4-6, and 5-7.
What's Next
The Saints (6-3, 1-1 MIAC) will once again stay in Florida to play their final match of the trip against the Central College Dutch (7-5, 5-3) tomorrow. Match time is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
