Duluth, Minn. – The Saint Scholastica Men's tennis team traveled to Owatonna, Minn. In order to play two matches; the first again the Eagles of the University of North Western, and the second against Buena Vista University. The first match ended with the Saints claiming a 7-0 victory over the Eagles, followed by a 6-1 victory over Buena Vista.

Doubles
Jonas Abeleda (Sydney, Australia/St Aloysius' College) and
Eamon Gerrard-Stace (Brisbane, Au./St Joseph's Nudgee College) started things off today for the Saints, scoring 7-5 in their set, earning the Saints' first win.
Dane Patten (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) and
Jack Onkka (Thief River Falls, Minn./) were up next. They finished their set, recording a 6-0 shut out win for the Saints.
Next in line was
Reece Patten (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) and
Alex Daigneault (Agua Dulce, Calif./Hart HS). They finished, recording a set score of 6-4, securing the Saints' third win.
Singles
Abeleda kicked things off, this time in the singles competition. He bested his opponent in two sets, scoring 6-1, and 6-2.
D. Patten competed third for the Saints in the singles round. He too bested his opponent with scores of 6-1, and 6-2 after two sets.
Gerrard-Stace was the second athlete for the Saints in the singles round. He recorded two 6-0 sets.
Harper Dirks was fourth for the Saints. He won his singles match, recording scores of 6-4, and 6-2 in two sets.
Onkka was second to last for the Saints in the singles competition. He triumphed over his opponent with scores of 6-0, and 6-0, finishing in two sets.
Andy Shaffer (Buffalo, Minn./) was the final athlete to compete for the Saints in singles play in the first match. He came out on top, recording scores of 6-2 and 6-2 in two sets.
Against Buena Vista
Doubles
Onkka and Daigneault started things off in the second game, for the Saints, scoring 6-1 in their set, earning the Saints' first win in game two.
Timon Herrmann () and Nico Gries were second In the second game. They finished their set, recording a 6-2 win for the Saints.
Third was
Drew Anderson (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) and
Jose Naranjo (). They finished, recording a set score of 6-3, securing the Saints' third win.
Singles
Dirk was first up in the second match, he bested his opponent ik three sets recording scores of 6-1, 2-6, and 10-6.
Naranjo competed second for the Saints in the singles round. He bested his opponent in two sets, with scores of 6-2, and 6-4.
Herrmann was third for the Saints. He fell just short of the win. After three sets, his final scores were 6-3, 4-6, and 9-11.
Anderson was third in line for the Saints. He also overcame his competition, scoring 6-3, and 6-3 after two sets.
Gries was the final athlete to compete for the Saints in singles play today. He came out on top, recording scores of 6-1 and 6-0 in two sets.
What's Next
The Saints (4-1, 1-0 MIAC) will compete against the Oles (1-1, 1-0 MIAC) of Saint Olaf College. The location if this match is to be determined. It is currently scheduled for Sunday March 2, at 3 p.m.
