DULUTH, Minn. -- St. Scholastica Track and Field hosted its lone home meet of the season over the weekend. The Burn's Wellness Commons set the stage for Lakehead University, St. Cloud State, University of Minnesota Duluth, and the University of Wisconsin-Superior to open up their seasons after a full fall of preparation.

Being recognized for their dedication over the course of their careers were the graduating seniors: Ella Engen (Clearbrook, Minn./Clearbrook-Gonvick HS), Ava Fink (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS), Kayla Nelson (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS), Elli Schritz (Mora, Minn./Mora HS), Ella Stritesky (Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS), Sydnie Wgeishofski (Pequot Lakes, Minn./Pequot Lakes HS).

Ella Stritesky (Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) set a new standard on senior day in the first event of the meet. Stritesky's consistency was on display with three throws over 52 feet. Her runner-up toss of 15.99m (52-05.50) was nearly a full meter personal best and moved her up to fourth on the Saints all-time list. Stritesky's mark has her sitting as the #8 ranked weight thrower in NCAA Division III.

Regan DeWitt ran away from the field with each passing lap in the mile on Saturday. In the eight-lap race, DeWitt cruised to the win in 5:20.71.

Shayna Wick (Poplar, WI/Northwestern High School) led a string of Saints sprinters in the 200m dash with a sixth place finish in 27.67 seconds. She won her heat by nearly a second and a half. Wick also finished sixth place in the long jump with a leap of 4.97m (16-03.75).

Elli Schritz (Mora, Minn./Mora HS) strung together a solid series in the triple jump to place third overall with a mark of 10.30m (33-09.50).

In the final home meet of her career, Sydnie Wgeishofski (Pequot Lakes, Minn./Pequot Lakes HS) soared to a fifth place finish in the high jump. Her mark of 1.45m (4-09.00) was matched by Molly King (New Prague, MN/New Prague High School) in her Saints debut. Wgeishofski took less attempts at the tied bar, so was given the nod in the results.

Team activity is now on pause for finals and semester break until January 7th. The Saints head across the bridge on January 17th to resume their meet schedule for the 2026 season.
