Moorhead, MN. – The St. Scholastica Football team will travel across the state this upcoming weekend on Saturday, September 28, taking on the Cobbers from Concordia College (Minn.) at 1 p.m. 

The Saints are coming off capturing its first victory of the 2024 campaign having defeated the Polars from Crown College last Saturday. Both teams enter Saturday's contest looking to capture its second win of the season, as both teams sit at 1-1.

Saints to Watch

Offense: 

• Junior Donald West (St. Paul, Minn./Woodbury HS (Iowa Central)) is coming off one of his best career performances in a Saints uniform last weekend, completing 20 passes for 226 yards and three passing touchdowns.

• Nick Schlender (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) and Jevon Williams (Willmar, MN) led the Saints in the rushing attack last weekend, as Schlender was able to record 111 yards on 24 carries to go along with a rushing touchdown. Williams gained 77 yards on the ground on 18 carries for CSS as well. 

• Andrew Burgess II (Tampa, Fla./Cypress Creek HS) recorded nine receptions last week for 122 yards and also recorded two touchdown receptions. 

Defense:

• Defensively for the Saints, Anthony Vo (St. Paul, Minn./Roseville HS) recorded four solo tackles and five assisted tackles to record nine tackles total, including 1.5 tackles for loss. 

• Antonio Bugni (Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) came in right behind him last week, as the Senior recorded one solo tackles and three assisted tackles in the win. 

A Look at the Cobbers

The Saints and Cobbers have only matched up once in history, with the Cobbers coming away with a 49-16 victory last September. The Cobbers are led by a stellar defense, which is ranked as the number-one ranked defense in the MIAC in total yards allowed.
