ST. PETER, Minn. - The College of St. Scholastica men's tennis team wrapped up their regular season with a tough match against the No. 13 ranked Gusties at the Wilkinson Tennis Complex.
The Saints wouldn't be able to claim any points in this contest,
Jonas Abeleda (Sydney, Australia/St Aloysius' College) and
Eamon Gerrard-Stace (Brisbane, Au./) fell 8-3 at No. 1 doubles, while
Dane Patten (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) and
Carter Anderson (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) lost 8-4 in their match.
The Gusties would take care of business,
Jack Onkka (Thief River Falls, Minn./) would battle with his opponent in the sixth spot but would fall 6-2, 6-2.
Playoffs
The Saints finish the regular season 11-9 and 7-2 MIAC, another great team effort, as they will head into their second-straight MIAC Playoffs Tournament. Last season, was their first time in the playoffs and they hosted as the No. 4 seed. They would ultimately lose to the No. 5 seeded Johnnies.
The Saints have clinched the No. 3 seed and will travel to No. 2 Carleton on Friday, May 3.
