Lang would advance to second base coming off a wild pitch. The Saints were now set up well with runners on second and third. Danielle Erickson (International Falls, Minn./Littlefork-Big Falls HS) would walk, loading the bases for the Saints.
The Cobbers would throw a wild pitch allowing Erickson to advance to second, Lang to advance to third, and finally allowing Potratz to score the Saints first run.
Aislind Dail (Sumner, Wash./Sumner HS) would pop out to shortstop, giving Lang the opportunity to score for the Saints, and Erickson to advance to third. Emma Bolin (Litchfield Park, Ariz./Millennium HS) would hit a drive down the third base line, letting Erickson score for the Saints. Bolin would be safe on first. The inning would come to a close with no more action.Â
The Saints would not wait very long to score again coming right back in the third inning. Grace Hadlich (Stillwater, Minn./Mahtomedi HS) would begin the inning by getting walked, freely taking first.
Samantha Paniagua (Corona, Calif./Centennial HS) would hit a single down center field, getting Hadlich to advance to second. Rosenthal would hit a single, advancing Paniagua to second, and bringing Hadlich home for the Saints fourth run. Rosenthal would steal second base. Lauren Laviano (Maplewood, Minn./Mahtomedi HS) would get walked, loading the bases for the Saints once again. Lang would single to left field, Laviano would advance to second base, and the Cobbers would get Rosenthal out at third.
That would not be it for the Saints, as Paniagua would score a run for the Saints. The Saints would suffer out two, a swinging strike out. Lang and Laviano would advance to Second and third respectively as a result of a passed ball. Dail would be walked, loading the bases for the third time, but the Saints would pop out and the inning would come to an end.Â
The fourth inning did not see any action for the Saints, as the Cobbers maintained their defense. That would change in the fifth inning, where the Saints would score one more run. The first batter would strike out, and Erickson would be hit by a pitch. Dail would hit a double to right field, advancing Erickson to third and putting Dail on second. Bolin would be walked, loading the bases for the fourth time. Coming off a pitching change for the Cobbers. Kari Breuer (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) would hit a single to left field, allowing Erickson to score. The Cobbers would achieve a double play ending the inning.Â
Picking up her third win on the season was Ashley Matejka (Oak Forest, Ill./Carl Sandburg HS (Wartburg College)).
That would be the final scoring for the game. Game one would end with a final score of 6-0.
Game Two, CSS 5, CCÂ 4
Game two would be much more interesting, coming down to one crucial play. The scoring would not start until the third inning however, with the Cobbers opening things up, scoring one run at the top of the third. The Saints would answer back strongly, scoring three runs.
The first run would come following a single from Laviano. The Saints would hit a foul ball that the Cobbers would grab giving them their first out. Dail would double to center field, giving Laviano the opportunity to score the Saints first run of game two. The Saints would hit a line drive to third, once again getting nabbed by the Cobbers, giving the Saints their second out of the inning. Breuer would then get walked. An error would occur, allowing  Hadlich to score. Breuer would advance to third and Dail would advance to home, scoring again for the Saints. Hadlich would go on to steal second and Breuer would reach home, scoring off the throw.Â
Concordia would bite back, scoring two more runs in the fourth tying the game up for the Cobbers. The Saints would not score in the fifth inning. The Cobbers would again score in the fifth, bringing their lead to one run. The Saints defense would hold up, not letting the Cobbers score any more runs in the sixth or seventh innings.
Knowing they had not scored since the third inning, they understood their time was here, and if they didn't do anything, the game would be over. The inning would begin with a hit to third base that would be caught by the Cobbers' third baseman. With two outs on the board, it was now or never for the Saints, and with a massive senior night push, Dail would hit a double, setting the Saints up for a possible game tying opportunity. Bolin would reach first resulting from an error by the shortstop, and Dail would advance to third, was this the chance the Saints needed?
The answer was yes, with Breuer up to bat, she would hit a walk-off single, allowing Bolin, and Dail to ring in the two runs needed for the Saints to clinch the clutch comeback win. Rosenthal would get the win as game two would come to an end with a final score of 5-4.
