VIRGINIA, Minn. - The Women's tennis team continued their section portion of conference play with a match against The College of Saint Benedict. The Bennies' saw a sweep a double, before grabbing half of the points in singles play.
Doubles
The No. 1 doubles team of
Julia Maier (Hamburg, Germany/Heidberg Gymnasium) and
Martina Garcia (Cuenca, Ecuador/Catalinas HS (Eastern Florida State College)) saw a close 8-7 loss, and so did partners
Mishell Benitez (Ambato, Ecuador/Colegio Tecnico Particular a Distancia José MartÃ) and
Chloe Hasbargen (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS).
Anna Ritchie (Becker, Minn./Becker HS) and
Maya Nibbe (Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS) fell 8-6 in their contest.
Singles
Maier saw a win at No. 1 singles, winning 6-3, 2-6, 10-5 and Garcia saw a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
The Bennies' grabbed sets No. 3, No. 4, and No. 6
Katia Bartels (St. Paul, Minn./Mounds View HS) picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win in the five slot.
