ORLANDO, Fla. - The College of St. Scholastica women's tennis team played in their fourth match of their spring break trip against Belhaven University on Tuesday morning.
The Saints would be able to take care of business against a limited Blazers team, that had to forfeit a doubles and singles contest to begin the match.Â
Doubles
Julia Maier (Hamburg, Germany/Heidberg Gymnasium) and
Martina Garcia (Cuenca, Ecuador/Catalinas HS (Eastern Florida State College)) had a dominant showing as they won 8-0 in No. 1 doubles
At the No. 2 spot
Maria Sosa (Mazatenango, Guatemala) and
Chloe Hasbargen (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) earned the 8-3 win.
Singles
Out of the ten sets played, the Saints would only allow the Blazers to score twice in the matches.
Maier and Garcia didn't allow a game in their No. 1 and No. 2 victories.
Sosa won her match, 6-1, 6-0 and
Katia Bartels (St. Paul, Minn./Mounds View HS) won 6-0, 6-0.
In the fifth spot,
Taylor Vyskocil (Ashland, Wis./Ashland HS) captured the 6-1, 6-0 win.
