VIRGINIA, Minn. - The College of St. Scholastica women's tennis team would take on St. Olaf College tonight at the Virginia Indoor Tennis and P'ball Club. The Saints would be able to claim four of the six singles matches, but dropping all three doubles matches to start the match would be the decider for CSS.
Top Performers
Julia Maier (Hamburg, Germany/Heidberg Gymnasium) would battle with Olha Zubarieva tonight in No. 1 singles, Maier would drop the first set 6-4, before winning the final two sets 7-5, 10-3.
In No. 2 singles, Martina Garica would handle business, winning her match 6-3, 6-3.
The Oles would take the 3/4 singles matches.
In the fifth spot, Katia Bartles picked up the 6-2, 6-0 victory. While in the final spot,
Anna Ritchie (Becker, Minn./Becker HS) went back and forth with her opponent but was able to claim the 6-4, 7-5 win.
