MOORHEAD, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's basketball team fell in its season finale this afternoon on the road against the Cobbers from Concordia-Moorhead. The Saints trailed by 12 at halftime, and despite a comeback attempt from CSS, it wouldn't be enough as the Cobbers came away with a 75-67 victory over St. Scholastica.

How it Happened
Noah Winesett (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) and Kevin Thomas (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) scored the opening points for the Saints, with Winesett going two-for-two at the free throw line, and Thomas getting a layup to fall.

After the Cobbers went on a brief run, Tanner Thomson (Woodbury, Minn./Stillwater HS) was able to convert an and-one, as the Cobbers lead was cut down to 14-7.

CSS was able to bring itself back into the contest, with Koy Nelson (Port Wing, Wis./South Shore HS) and Aaron Keykal (Princeton, Minn./Princeton HS) scoring on layups, and Thomas hit a jumper to make the score 20-15.

Keykal scored twice more on jumpers, followed by jumpers from Andre Crockett Jr. (Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS (Rochester Community College)) and Winesett, with the Cobbers leading 31-23.

The final field goals for the Saints in the first half came from Winesett and Moe Washington (Silver Spring, Md./Hibbing Community College), as the Saints trailed the Cobbers by a score of 40-28.

Winesett opened the second half for the Saints with a three-pointer, followed by a steal on the defensive end and a coast-to-coast finish for Jeff Moore (Richfield, Minn./Richfield HS), which resulted in a converted and-one, giving CSS early momentum.

After Crockett Jr. got another layup to fall, Raymond scored on a jumper that was assisted by Moore, and Moore got a shot to fall from three-point range, with Concordia leading 54-41.

A trio of three-pointers for the Saints by Crockett Jr., Thomas, and Winesett, brought the Saints deficit to under double-digits.

Moments later, Jacquez Overstreet (Appleton, Wis./Oshkosh West (Marian University)) hit his first three-pointer to make the score 57-53 in favor of the Cobbers.

Concordia was able to bring its lead back up to nine points before Raymond put an end to the run with a layup.

Late in the second half, the Saints got jumpers from Keykal and Nelson, as well as a three-pointer Winesett and a layup from Moore, but it would be too much to come back from, as the Cobbers took today's game by a score of 75-67.
