DULUTH, Minn. – The Saint Scholastica Women's Hockey team once again faced off against the Cobbers of Concordia College at home. This was the second game of a two-game series at home, the Saints would win the series after a win today, 3-0.

What Happened
Right away in the first period there was action, the Saints' Abby Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) would score the teams' first goal, just 29 seconds into the game, and Hanley Block (Alexandria, Minn./Alexandria HS) assisted on the goal. The Saints would out-shoot the Cobbers in the first period with ten shots on net compared to their opponents who had only one fewer with nine. The period would come to a close with the Saints ahead by one goal.

The second period was tame for goals, but the competition was fierce. Both teams suffered several penalties, the Saints would be booked four times, and the Cobbers three. Fortunately, neither team was able to capitalize on their power plays, even with a combined total of shots on the net being 13, four for the Saints, and nine for the Cobbers. This period would end the same as the first with a score of 1-0 in favor of the Saints.

The third and final period of the game was intense, the Saints would score their first goal of the period six minutes in, this would be a powerplay goal coming off of an interference call on the Cobbers. The Cobbers offense would try desperately to even the score, putting up a total of 12 shots on net, more than doubling the Saints' five. However, the Saints defense was too much for them and the Cobbers were unable to score in the third. With two minutes left in the game, the Cobbers would try a last-ditch attempt at closing the gap by pulling their goalie, however, that only allowed Lauryn Hull (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly HS) to score the Saints' third and final goal of the night, securing the win for the Saints.

Goaltending
Ashlea Arvidson (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS) would play all 60 minutes for the Saints, she would face 30 shots, and register 30 saves giving her a shutout.

Becca Macklin would play all 60 minutes for the Cobbers and face 18 shots and register 16 saves.
