DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team hosted the twenty-fifth ranked Crusaders from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor this afternoon at Kenny Harkins Field. The Crusaders scored just once in the first half, but ended up scoring twice in the second half to secure a 3-0 victory over CSS today.
How it Happened
Defense and solid goalkeeping shined early as both teams were unable to find the back of the net in the first 20 minutes. Just after the 20 minute mark, the Crusaders broke the 0-0 score, taking a 1-0 lead in the opening half.
Brianna Jorgenson (Columbia Heights, Minn./Columbia Heights HS) got the start in goal today for the Saints and made some key saves in the first half to keep the score at 1-0. Jorgenson faced a career-high 36 shots today in the net.
Early in the second half, the Crusaders found the net in the 46th minute to extend its lead over CSS to 2-0.
Gracie Meagher (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) replaced Jorgenson in the 68th minute of today's action and was able to save three shots in three minutes, as the score remained at 2-0.
Mary Hardin-Baylor scored the final goal of the match in the 78th minute, as the Crusaders were able to secure a 3-0 victory over CSS today.

The Saints (0-2-0) will be back in action next Saturday, where they will travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to take on the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
