LAKE NONA, Fla. (csssaints.com) – St. Scholastica women's tennis played their fourth match of the spring break trip. CSS hasn't been able to get in the win column this week, but still are playing competitively.
The team would face Saint Mary's College of Notre Dame, Ind. The Belles would be able to take this contest, 7-2.
Doubles
The No. 3 team of Annika Lundell (Hibbing, Minn.) and Katia Bartels (St. Paul, Minn./Mounds View HS) would secure the lone double point for the Saint, winning 8-5.
The Saints No.1 team of Mishell Benitez (Ambato, Ecuador/Colegio Tecnico Particular a Distancia José Martí) and Anna Ritchie (Becker, Minn./Becker HS) and the No. 2 doubles partners of Chloe Hasbargen (Bemidji, Minn.) and Taylor Vyskocil (Ashland, Wis.) would both lose two tight matches with their opponents, 6-8.
Singles
Julia Maier (Hamburg, Germany/Heidberg Gymnasium) would rest from normal doubles play and continue her winning streak from yesterday, defeating her opponent 6-1, 6-4.
In the No. 4 spot, Katia would split the day with a 7-6, 6-1 loss.
On the No.5 court, Ava Fink (Virginia, Minn./Rock Ridge HS) and Kathleen McLeod would have a great battle. Fink would grab the first set 6-4, only to lose the second set 6-0. The super tiebreaker would end in McLeod grabbing the 11-9 set and overall win.
