Duluth, Minn. (csssaints.com) -- On Sunday, St. Scholastica's women's soccer shutout Finlandia University for their first win of the season on senior day.
How it Happened
The Saints came into the game with intent on winning senior day and it showed with the 11 shots taken in just the first half as well as two goals. The first CSS goal was made by Kaitlyn Sautter (Princeton, Minn./Princeton HS) with an assist by Tenley Voth (Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) in the 21st minute of the game. Later on in the first half Sautter had an unassisted goal in the 30th minute of the game. St. Scholastica went into halftime with a 2-0 lead over Finlandia.
After the half, Sautter had her third goal of the game in the 70th minute with another assist from Tenley. The Saints remained in possession of the ball for the majority of the second half as Finlandia only had one attempted shot for the remainder of the game. The Saints had their fourth and final goal in the 80th minute of the game, shot by Ella Stritesky (Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) with an assist by Ella Achterkirch (Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS).
Goalkeeper Gracie Meagher (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) had two saves throughout the game for the Saints.
