Women’s Hockey has Three Named All-MIAC

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's hockey team had three forwards recognized as All-Conference by the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) on Monday.
 
Anderson a Four-Time All-Conference Choice
Senior Rachel Anderson (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) concluded her career with her fourth all-conference nod. Anderson, who was a three-time First Team choice in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA), earns All-MIAC honors this season.
 
Anderson led the team with 13 goals and 23 points this season. Those numbers were in the top seven amongst all MIAC players this season. Her seven goals in league play ranked sixth in the MIAC.
 
Anderson finishes her career as the program leader with 82 assists in a program-high 126 games played. She ranks second all-time with 135 career points and tied for second all-time with 53 career goals. Her 13 career game-winning goals also ranks second in program history.
 
Thompson a Three-time All-Conference Selection
Senior Taylor Thompson (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) earns All-Conference accolades for the third time in her career. The two-time First Team All-NCHA selection, earns All-MIAC accolades this season after ranking second in the league with 11 assists against conference competition. Her 16 points in conference play was the sixth-most in the MIAC.
 
Thompson led the team with 14 assists this season and was second on the squad with 22 points. She finishes her career with the third-most points in program history at 114. Her 78 career assists rank second all-time and her 36 goals are tied for the fifth-most all-time. Thompson appeared in the second-most games (121) in program history.
 
First All-Conference Honors for Pohlkamp
Junior Abby Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) earns all-conference honors of any kind for the first time in her career. Pohlkamp scored six goals in MIAC play, which ranked sixth in the league. She was the only Saint to record a hat trick in MIAC play, scoring three goals against St. Catherine University.
 
Pohlkamp was second on the team with 11 goals and finished third on the squad with a career-high 18 points.
 
MIAC Postseason Awards
Sophie Rausch of Hamline University and Ary Ziakas of Saint Mary's University were named the Co-MIAC Players of the Year. Hamline's Jordan Hansen earned Sheila Brown Award, which is presented by St. Catherine University to a senior women's hockey student-athlete who has made a long-term contribution to her team's success and who has consistently competed with good sportsmanship. Gustavus Adolphus College Head Coach Mike Carroll was named the MIAC Coach of the Year.
