Makenzie Cole (Cohasset, Minn./Grand Rapids HS), the Saints standout junior goaltender has been honored with MIAC All-Conference recognition for the first time in her collegiate career. During the 2024-25 season, Cole was often facing an onslaught of attacks from Saints opponents and came up with shutdown saves time and time again. In her twenty-three games played this season, she saved 930 shots (an average of over fourty per game) and only allowed 58 goals for a goals against average of 2.63 and a save percentage of .941. This save total ranked first among Division III goaltenders, and she also finished the year in 24th and 12th in total time played. Cole also recorded an assist, an unusual feat for a goaltender. Cole's save percentage ranked second in the conference with seven more games played and 515 more saves than the goaltender with the highest save percentage in the MIAC.

Head Coach Julianne Vasichek had this to say about Cole's impact. "Makenzie's attributes off the scoresheet are equally as impressive, with her play and leadership qualities. With rotating captains this season, Kenzie held an Assistant Captain role for 3 weeks. She is often the first one on the ice, stick handling and shooting. Without seeing Kenzie play, it is hard to comprehend how often she plays the puck and how it changes the need for coaches to game plan against us."

Cole, a Health Informatics and Information Management major, looks to spearhead a successful Saints women's hockey campaign this coming season.
