Women’s Track & Field Picks Up Two Wins at Gene Glader Classic

ST. PAUL (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team had a pair of sophomores earn event wins on Saturday at the Gene Glader Classic, hosted by Bethel University.
 
Event Winners
Jenna Terrio (Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park HS) won her first collegiate event, taking the 3,000m run with a personal-best time of 11:59.44. That is nearly 40 seconds faster than her best time in that event last year.
 
Lily Beneke (Green Isle, Minn./Sibley East HS) won the weight throw with a personal-best toss of 52'0.5" (15.86m). That is over a meter farther than her previous best.
 
Top Performers
Anna Becker (Buffalo, Minn./Maple Lake HS) was runner-up in both the shot put and weight throw events. Becker's shot put mark was 37'5.25" (11.41m) and her weight throw toss was a personal-best 50'11" (15.52m).
 
McKenzie Williams (Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) was third in the 60m hurdles, posting a time of 9.77.
 
Ellie Sholing (Wabasha, Minn./Wabasha-Kellogg HS) was third in the 800m run with a time of 2:29.03.
 
Dayelise Davidson (Coleraine, Minn./Greenway HS) was fourth in the pole vault, clearing a season-best height of 10'0" (3.05m). She was also fifth in the 200m dash with a personal-best time of 27.71. She had another personal-best time in the 60m dash of 8.28 to finish sixth in that event.
 
Liz Berndt (Baldwin, Wis./Baldwin-Woodville HS) finished fourth in the 3,000m run with a time of 12:17.12.
 
Up Next
The Saints are back in the Twin Ports next weekend as they compete across the bridge for the second time this season at the Yellowjacket Open on Saturday. Action begins at 11 a.m.
