ST. PETER, Minn.
(cssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica football team traveled to St. Peter this afternoon to take place in a conference matchup against the Gusties from Gustavus Adolphus College. Unfortunately, the Saints had a hard time slowing down the Gusties, primarily in the first half, as Gustavus defeated CSS today by a score of 77-7.
How it Happened
Gustavus got the ball rolling this afternoon, as the Gusties scored a touchdown on all of its first four drives of the afternoon, taking an early 28-0 lead, shortly into the second quarter.
Gustavus continued to add onto its lead throughout the second quarter, as CSS trailed at halftime by a score of 61-0.
The Gusties added another touchdown midway through the third quarter to make the score 67-0.
On the ensuing drive, CSS began to drive down the field.
Donald West (St. Paul, Minn./Woodbury HS (Iowa Central)) connected with
Wyatt Lahr (Bowlus, Minn./Royalton HS) for 71 yards on a pair of catches. CSS began to drive down the field and capped off the drive with West throwing a touchdown pass to Ricky Webber, to make the score 61-7.
In the fourth quarter, Gustavus added yet another touchdown, and capped off today's game with a victory, by a score of 77-7.

The Saints (2-3, 1-2 MIAC) will be back in action next Saturday where they will take on the Knights from Carleton College in a conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
