How It Happened
The Oles (4-8, 3-6 MIAC) scored the first seven points of the contest and jumped out to a 16-5 lead. However, the Saints held St. Olaf scoreless the final four minutes of the first quarter to make it 20-12 heading into the second period.

CSS went on a 6-0 run early in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 22-18. The Oles got the margin back to 10 with less than two minutes remaining, before the Saints scored the final four points of the half, including Karli Nixon's (Deerwood, Minn./Crosby-Ironton HS) 3-pointer in the waning moments to put the halftime score at 32-26. Miranda Broberg (Milaca, Minn./Milaca HS (UW-Superior)) and Nixon combined for 18 of the team's 26 points in the half.

A Megan Hurley (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) layup at the midway point of the third quarter made the score 41-36 St. Olaf. CSS made only one more field goal in the period, but went 4-for-6 from the free throw line to keep within striking distance at 50-42 heading into the final quarter.

However, the Oles opened the fourth quarter on a 10-2 run to extend their lead to 16. St. Scholastica responded with a 10-1 run to make the score 61-54 with three minutes remaining. Unfortunately, St. Olaf scored six of the final seven points to win 67-55.
