csssaints.com) – Bethel University limited the St. Scholastica women's basketball team to five points in the first quarter en route to a 96-46 victory Monday night in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) action.
How It Happened
Miranda Broberg (Milaca, Minn./Milaca HS (UW-Superior)) made a 3-pointer two minutes into the game and that was the lone field goal for the Saints in the first 10 minutes of action. The Royals (7-5, 6-3 MIAC) scored the final 17 points of the quarter to lead 27-5 after the first period.
Bethel outscored the Saints 53-25 in the middle two quarters of the game, but the Saints played even in the final period falling by a final of 96-46.
Top Performers
Eve Turner (Side Lake, Minn./Hibbing HS) led the Saints with a season-high 10 points.
Megan Hurley (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) added eight points and
Liz Frase (Proctor, Minn./Proctor HS (Concordia-Moorhead)) led the team with nine rebounds.
Courtney Nuest had 22 points to lead all scorers for the Royals.
