How It Happened
After
Chris Galley (Kent, England/Rivington & Blackrod HS) struck the post just over a minute into the contest,
Ken Pryde (Fareham, England/Barton Peveril College) found the net one minute and 25 seconds in to make it 1-0 Saints.
Elijah Seehof-Flory (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) and
Taylor Tran (Northridge, Calif./Granada Hills Charter HS) had the assists.
Just 30 seconds later,
Romario Willis (Kingston, Jamaica/St. George's College) made it 2-0 St. Scholastica. In the seventh minute, Willis connected with Pryde for Pryde's second goal to extend the CSS lead to 3-0.
Willis added his second assist of the contest in the 33
rd minute as he found
Akeem Robotham (Kingston, Jamaica/St. George's College (Johnson County CC)) to give the Saints a 4-0 lead at the half.
The second half was a different story as the LumberJacks (2-7-0) scored two goals 20 seconds apart in the 52
nd minute to make it 4-2. Northland made things even more interesting in the 73
rd minute with a goal to cut the lead to 4-3.
However, the Saints limited the LumberJacks to just one shot on goal the rest of the way to hang on for the 4-3 victory.
